Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! A common misconception is that since resin dice have “stuff” in them, they are therefore loaded and cannot be balanced. However, this is false!

Handmade dice makers typically use materials that have similar density as the resin, so don’t worry; those decorative flowers, glitter, bones, etc. will not change the randomness of your rolls.

What can affect balance in gaming dice are things like air bubbles and uneven surface areas of die faces. Mass-manufactured dice have a history of these flaws. Resin artists have honed their craft to reduce these issues to the point where it does not affect casual gameplay. It would take thousands of rolls to statistically identify a balance issue in one d20!

So, in short, if you are not using dice for high-stakes gambling, and you have never questioned the fairness of your factory-made dice, you don’t need to worry about balance :)

  • These dice are seriously sharp!!! Please do not leave them out around young children or pets. Wipe gently with a microfiber cloth to clean and restore shine. For the best color longevity, do not expose them to direct sunlight for long periods of time.

Resin may become tacky, and dice may stick to each other in high temperatures. If this occurs, leave the dice in a cool place until restored to full click-clack hardness. If your dice feel sticky or you can dent them with a fingernail at room temperature (below 69°F), contact the dice maker immediately.

  • Some artisans go above and beyond in the polishing process and will re-sand and polish every face of every die to bring it to a perfect shine. ately do not have the time on top of my day job to make our dice flawless. Some makers will even overwork their dice, We here at Snaggletooth work efficiently sanding and polishing at the same time to not overwork the dice to create various finishes depending on the style we are looking for for the set were working on.

You may find fine marks and scratches on some faces and edges of our dice, which is an unavoidable part of the handmade process. It’s what sets handmade sharp-edge dice apart from factory-made dice, whose edges have been completely smoothed away in the tumbling process.
